When someone asks who you are, what do you say? Most of us start with our job, our school or college, and where we come from. Are we really that?

I don’t think so. Those things are part of the story, but they’re labels, and a label is a small part of a person. I don’t want to be put in a box, and I doubt anyone does.

We keep changing. What shapes us is ordinary: what we go through, the good and the bad, and the mistakes we make. The places we go and the books we read matter. So do the people we meet and the relationships we have, the country we live in, and the family we come from. So do the privileges we have, whether we earned them or just got lucky. Some of this we choose. A lot of it we don’t.

I’m Rahul, and I live in Bangalore. I’ve been working for more than twenty years. What taught me the most in that time was talking to people and seeing how different their lives can be. Travel and reading have added to it.

I like learning. I’m curious about most things, and I try to look inward as much as outward. I want to understand what matters, what’s worth my time and how to live well with the people around me. I don’t have all the answers. I’m okay with that.

This blog is where I write about life, business, leadership, travel, philosophy and a bit of law. I try to keep it honest and simple. I won’t always get it right, and what I write today I may disagree with tomorrow. That’s fine. It means I’m still learning.
